Moonkil Trust is a non-profit voluntary organization, founded by broad-minded philanthropist social service personalities, to implement programmes that improve livelihoods for the underprivileged in Theni District, Tamil Nadu, India.
Registered in 2015, our Trust works to develop target rural areas and improve the standard of living of poor people, while alleviating rural poverty through education, skill training, health upliftment and community empowerment.
Our Trust is a non-profit voluntary organization, founded by philanthropist, broad-minded social service personalities to implement all social service programs to improve the livelihood in all respects for the underprivileged people in Theni District, Tamil Nadu, India.
We are implementing all our programs with our own funds, and we eagerly wish to extend our social service programs, since in our target areas more than 100 village families are still struggling economically, educationally and socially. We welcome donations from people who wish to participate in our noble services for the poor people.
Award received from Indian Ex-Member of United Nations Mr. Shedrack, for our Trust's best service to the social work.
To improve the socio, economic and educational development of rural poor people and also hill area people in all around our target areas.
To implement skill development trainings, educational development, evening study centers, health & environment upliftment, women development, solar energy access, consumer & legal awareness, agricultural development and welfare for orphans, widows, destitute and old age people.
Registered in 2015, for the last 10 years we have been improving our social service activities every year, guided by meetings with Panchayat leaders, women group leaders, landlords and farmers group leaders in every village.
Over the last ten years we have steadily expanded our social service activities, organizing regular meetings across rural areas with Panchayat leaders, women group leaders, landlords and farmer group leaders to identify the welfare programmes most needed in each village. On this basis, we fix the Trust's annual agenda and each year we record the number of beneficiaries and villages reached, to monitor and sustain our programmes.
We have served tribal people across our target areas with Aadhaar enrolment, ration cards, insurance, bank account opening, self-help group formation and loan facilities for economic development and employment.
Many poor families borrow from local money-lenders at very high rates of interest that they struggle to repay. To prevent this exploitation, our Trust provides small, interest-free loans so that women can start small businesses, earn an income, and rise out of poverty.
Previous programmes include: women development, skill trainings, poverty alleviation, educational development, non-formal education, eradication of child labour, tribal welfare, health and environment awareness, agricultural development, rural development, consumer and rural awareness, and youth development programmes.
